The Bombshell Sweater is such a quick and easy, basic sweater! Everyone needs a basic sweater, right?! This beginner crochet sweater pattern is perfect for new crocheters who want to make their first garment!
Pattern Inspiration
I wanted to create something for confident beginners to try if they’ve never made a garment or sweater before!
The Bombshell Sweater was created with that in mind and doesn’t require any sewing or shaping!
I loved adding the turtleneck and ribbed trim to this top personally. It just gave it such a nice, modern look for winter!
The Bombshell Sweater is an ideal beginner crochet sweater pattern!
Pattern Details
The Bombshell Sweater is so versatile and easily customizable to fit your preferences!
I made mine as a cropped sweater, but it can also be made into a full length sweater or a short sleeve top! The turtleneck collar can also be left off.
The Bombshell Sweater is a top-down, raglan style workup. This beginner crochet sweater uses only single and double crochet. It also doesn’t require any sewing!
I used one of my favorite yarns, Knit Pick Brava Sport, for this sweater. It’s lightweight and has a nice drape, making this sweater great for layering over a tank top!
Knit Picks Brava Sport is currently my go-to sport weight yarn for garments. It’s soft and washes up very nicely. It’s 100% acrylic, which I like for a basic garment.
You will need approximately 900-1600 yards of this yarn, depending on which size you make.
