I just love a simple crochet earwarmer that I can throw on when I need to keep my ears warm! The Boston Earwarmer is simple, worked in the round, and has lots of stretchy texture! I love to make this one in all my favorite color yarns and have one for every outfit!
This crochet earwarmer project is super quick and will only take an hour or so to make! This makes it a great project for gifts or selling at market or online!
Pattern Details
The Boston Earwarmer is made with DK (#3) weight yarn. I used one of my favorite DK yarns ever, Swish DK from WeCrochet! Swish DK is 100% superwash merino wool and is so soft and warm! Check out my full review on my YouTube Channel! I used the colorway Marina for the earwarmer pictured in this post.
It is all worked in the round, no buttons or sewing to attach it.
The pattern comes with instructions for sizes toddler, children’s, small adult, and large adult.
The pattern is rated Easy in difficulty. You will need to know the Chainless Foundation Single Crochet stitch and the basic crochet stitches.

Materials
80-100 yards sport weight yarn (Brava Sport used in photo)
H/5.00mm hook or hook to obtain gauge
Scissors
Measuring tape
Tapestry needle

working an fsc foundation row to begin, 15 hdc + 11 hdc rows = 4”
Sizing
Toddler (18-20”)
Child (20-21”)
Small Adult (21-22”)
Large Adult (22-23”)
Pattern Notes
Starting chain does not count as first st.
Instructions are worked in toddler size with additional sizes in parentheses as follows: Toddler (Child, S. Adult, L. Adult)
Stitches Needed & Abbreviations
FSC- chainless foundation single crochet
ch- chain
st- stitch
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
**- repeat what is inside these symbols
RS- right side
WS- wrong side
Earwarmer
Round 1: FSC 75(81, 87, 90), join to 1st st. (75, 81, 87, 90)
Round 2: (RS) Ch 1, turn, hdc in each st around, join to 1st st. (75, 81, 87, 90)
Round 3: Ch 1, turn,(sc, hdc, sc) in 1st st, skip 2, *(sc, hdc, sc) in next st, skip 2*, repeat around, join to 1st st. (75, 81, 87, 90)
Repeat round 3 until entire earwarmer measures approximately 3” (3.5”, 3.5”, 4”) wide, ending on a round facing the WS.
Round 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 hdc in each st around, join to 1st st. (75, 81, 87, 90)
Round 5: Ch 1, do not turn, 1 sc in each st around, join to 1st st. (75, 81, 87, 90)
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

I have a question. When you finish round 3 and do your turn which stitch do you put your combo stitch into? A single, the hd or do you do it in between the combo?
