I am so excited to share with you my latest crochet market bag pattern! The Calla Lily Market Bag is cute, durable, and over sized to give you lots of room for anything your heart desires!

This crochet bag can be used at the farmers market to grab your favorite produce, or to carry yarn when you leave the house! This bag can even be used as a beach or pool bag! It’s big enough to hold a towel, sunscreen, and your favorite book!

Pattern Inspiration

I wanted to design a new crochet market bag pattern and I wanted it to be something slightly oversized with a beautiful stitch pattern!

This market bag needed to be great for multiple uses and slouchy, without holes that were too big, so multiple items could go into it.

I was very pleased with how the Calla Lily Market Bag turned out. The oversized look is great for the farmers market or the pool. The long handles are so useful and the stitch pattern is gorgeous!

About the Pattern

The Calla Lily Market Bag crochet pattern calls for DK (#3) weight cotton or cotton blend yarn.

I used WeCrochet Cotlin yarn for my sample. Cotlin is a lovely yarn made of 70% Tanguis Cotton and 30% Linen. It is a DK (#3) weight yarn and comes in a lovely variety of colors.

I really enjoyed working with this yarn. It is a nice soft cotton. I find that sometimes cotton and cotton blends can be rough against the skin and harder to crochet with. But Cotlin was very smooth and easy to work with.

You will need approximately 369 yards of this yarn to complete your crochet market bag.

The bag measures 22″ (from top of straps to bottom of bag) x 15″ wide laid flat. This bag is slightly over sized and can carry just about anything!

The pattern is rated easy in pattern difficulty. The stitch combos use basic crochet stitches to create the look.

The bag is worked in the round from the bottom up. The handles are also created in the round, with no sewing needed.
