The Camellia Sweater is a high-low, tunic length, oversized crochet sweater that is perfect for winter!

Pattern Inspiration

I don’t know about you, but I practically live in leggings! I love to wear them! They are just so comfortable and can be dressed up or down!

So, any top long enough to wear with leggings is great in my book! I set out to design a sweater that was long and oversized and perfect to wear with my favorite leggings and boots.

I chose a very simple stitch combo and an easy workup, just sewing two rectangles together. This made it super easy to create the high-low effect on the sweater.

I gave it a cowl neck which made it even more cozy, and a fun trim on the sleeves for a little added style!

Pattern Details

The Camellia Sweater is a hi-low style crochet sweater with an optional cowl neckline and long sleeves.

The crochet pattern comes in women’s sizes XS to 5X. You can find out all the details on how much yarn you’ll need for each size on the pattern listings.

It is a rectangle workup, meaning you create two rectangle panels and sew them together to create the sweater. The sleeves and neckline are added at the end.

You will need DK (#3) weight yarn for this project. I used Paintbox Simple DK yarn in the colorway Misty Grey. Simply DK is a 100% acrylic yarn that comes in many different colorways. It has a generous 302 yards to a skein and can be machine washed and dried. It is one of my favorite budget friendly yarns!

The pattern difficulty is intermediate. The stitches used are very basic sc and dc, but you will need to have some knowledge of crocheting garments and sewing crochet pieces together.

The sweater has about 6″ of positive ease to it, making it slightly over sized. You will, however, be able to easily adjust the length and width of the project. For a tighter fit, go down a size. The cowl neckline is optional and added at the end.

Since the backside is longer you can wear this sweater with your favorite leggings and boots!
