Pattern Inspiration

This crochet triangle shawl was actually my first experience with fingering (#1) weight yarn! I was determined to make a triangle shawl with this lightweight yarn because I knew the drape would be amazing!

I originally created this design in a hand dyed yarn, and have since made more in other yarns!

Pattern Details

The Cherry Blossom Shawl crochet pattern is made with fingering (#1) weight yarn. The yarn used in the photos is Hawthorne Fingering yarn from WeCrochet. I used the colorways Wisp from the Kettle Dye line and Blueberry Speckle from the Speckled line.

You’ll need approximately 750 yards. This amount is approximate. You can make the shawl as big or as small as you prefer, and that will reflect the yardage used.

This crochet triangle shawl pattern is rated Easy in pattern difficulty. It is worked in rows, starting with a magic circle. There are simple stitches and color changes throughout the project.

Blocking this crochet shawl will give it even more length and drape!

  3. This is by far one of the most beautiful shawls I have ever seen! Love it! Thanks for sharing!

  4. In row 7, you have list a sc into next chain space. This stitch does not seem to be accounted for in row 8, nor is it mentioned in the video tutorial. Could you please confirm and/or clarify? I am a very new crocheter, having just learned after a lifetime f trying to learn. This is my first official pattern. Thank you.

  5. I’m very new to crochet and am confused about the instructions for rows 9-13. The pattern says to turn twice after the first chain. Is this just a typo or is it what should be done? Please let me know as this is what I am up to in this project. Thanks.

  6. Can I use yarn that is weight 4 instead of the fingering yarn? I am making this for a friend who lives in London & wanted a shawl that would be somewhat warm for her. Thank you. I love this shawl!
