The Flowers & Showers crochet vest pattern is a beautiful boho style vest that looks great with just about any outfit!
Pattern Inspiration
I was inspired to create a children’s version of the Flowers & Showers crochet vest after I created the adult vest! It is such an adorable vest for any age and I wanted it to be available to kids and adults alike!
Pattern Details
The Flowers & Showers crochet vest pattern uses worsted weight (#4) yarn. WeCrochet Brava Worsted was used for the sample. Brava Worsted is one of my favorite yarns!
It is 100% acrylic and comes in a large variety of colors! It is machine washable and dryable and is a great price! You will need approximately 300-475 yards, depending on what size you make.
The crochet vest is worked from the bottom up in rows and split into 3 sections to create the armholes. It is then seamed at the shoulders to connect it.
This pattern is rated Easy in pattern difficulty.

Row 1: Fsc 17, turn work so that the sc side is on top.
Row 2: Dc in 1st, {dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc} in next, skip 2 repeat across, dc in last, turn. (5 shells, 2 dc)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each dc across, turn. (17)
Row 4: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and ch 1), skip 1, dc in next, ch 1, skip 1, dc in next, repeat across, turn.

Trim
Join to right of first stitch of right side panel.
Round 1: Ch 1, sc in 1st 4( 10,10), sc2tog the last stitch of the right side panel and first stitch of the
middle panel, sc in next 25( 31,37), sc2tog the last stitch of the middle panel and the first stitch of the
left side panel, sc in last 4(10,10).
Continue to sc evenly around the entire garment, working 2 sc in each corner. Join to 1st stitch.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, working 2 sc in each corner, join to 1st stitch. Finish off. Weave in ends.
Sleeves
Join yarn to bottom corner of each armhole and sc evenly around, join to 1st stitch. Finish off Weave in
ends.
Lay right and left panel over middle panel. Use scrap yarn to whip stitch the 4(10, 10) stitches from the
side panels to the wrong side of the middle panel. Finish off. Weave in ends.

This is adorable but it said “The crochet vest is worked . . . then seamed at the shoulders to connect it.” which should be normal so I am confused how it says to add the trim as if stitching across the front panels only to sc2tog at the meeting of the panel(s) to the back therefore no mention of seaming the shoulder seam. Also I rarely get the right gauge/ yarn so measurements of finished pieces like 9.5 inches from top of thigh to one inch below armhole is workable and appreciated Thanks great vest there’s very few patterns for tweens.
Doing the sc2tog is what connects the it at the shoulders. From there you will work sc down the front, around the bottom, and back up the front to add your trim.
