Pattern Details

This crochet hat pattern calls for worsted (#4) weight yarn. I used WeCrochet Brava Tweed for my hat.

Brava Tweed is a newer yarn from WeCrochet and I just love it because it’s the same great softness and sturdiness you get with Brava Worsted, but in a tweed colorway!

This crochet hat is worked from the bottom up, starting with the ribbed brim.

It comes in 6 sizes from 0-6 months to adult sizes.

  1. Got holes in round 7… Should I repeat round 8 as round 4 ? This is my first crochet project, so can’t read a pattern at the best – round 5-7 “repeat round 3&4” means as round 5 as round 3, round 6 as 4 and round 7 as round 3. So after round 7 should I jump directly to your round 8 or finish round 4 and then do your round 8 as my round 9. Please help
    Thanks.

    1. All of you odd numbered rounds will be a repeat of round 3 and your even numbered rounds will be a repeat of round 4.

  2. Soooo if I’m making this for an adult woman my brim has 80 rows before I join together? That seems way too big. I want this to stay on if it’s windy.

    1. What size head circumference is the person you are making it for? I’m an adult woman but my head only measures 21″ so I usually do the child or teen size for myself. It just depends on the head circumference and also make sure you meet gauge to get the correct length of your brim.

    1. I don’t have a video. Just the photos. The 2nd and 3rd photo show what you’re doing in round 3. You work your stitches over the ch spaces into the skipped stitches from the round before.
