The Siesta Sweater is going to be your go to crochet top for fall and spring! With the lacy stitch work at the top and the lightweight yarn used, it’s perfect for the transitioning seasons!

Pattern Inspiration

I wanted to create a crochet top that was simple , but that looked intricate! I also wanted something great for transitioning into a new season.  It turned out just as beautiful as I had hoped!

I decided to use a sport weight yarn for this one because I wanted it to be lightweight enough to wear in the spring and fall and not be too warm when wearing it.

I found the lacy stitch combo in one of my favorite crochet stitch books! It’s super simple but looks very detailed and intricate! I decided to work the sleeves to just at the elbow and I just love the look it gives!

Pattern Details

The Siesta Sweater crochet pattern calls for sport (#2) weight yarn. I used WeCrochet Brava Sport for my sweater. Brava Sport is one of my go to sport weight, acrylic yarns! It’s soft, durable, and can be machine washed and dried!

The pattern difficulty is labeled as intermediate. You’ll need to know the basic crochet stitches, as well as the herringbone half double crochet stitch. Plus it’s best to have a bit of knowledge on crocheting garments.

This crochet top is worked from the bottom up with sleeves added at the end. There is only a small amount of seaming at the shoulders.

The instructions from this pattern come in women’s sizes XS to 2X.

This sweater is fitted with only about one inch of positive ease. If you would like a looser fit, go up one size.

The lacy trim is optional, but I feel that it adds a nice finish to the body of the sweater.

This crochet pattern uses the herringbone half double crochet stitch. I am a left-handed crocheter. If you are a right-handed crocheter the steps will be the same, but you will be working in the opposite direction of the video.
