Pattern Inspiration

The Winter Blooms Cowl is one of my first crochet patterns and it has now been given an upgrade!

This is one of those patterns that I saw the crochet stitch first and decided I wanted to use it. The process rarely happens this way, but it is always fun when it does!

Pattern Details

The Winter Blooms Cowl uses bulky (#5) weight yarn. I used Mighty Stitch Bulky from WeCrochet in the colorway Ivy. It is a super soft and cozy yarn consisting of 80% acrylic and 20% superwash wool.

Some other alternative yarns that I’d recommend to use for this project are We Crochet Swish Bulky, Lion Brand Hue & Me, or Mary Maxim Marvelous Chunky.

This crochet cowl uses the aligned puff stitch to create a gorgeous texture. It’s a simple hdc4tog stitch that creates the puff and the single crochet and chain stitches align them perfectly.

The pattern comes in one size. Exact gauge is not necessary.

You can customize this cowl to be as long or short as you please.

The Winter Blooms Cowl will be a great accessory to your winter wardrobe!
