The Yarn

This children’s cardigan uses worsted (#4) weight yarn. I used Knit Picks Brava Worsted for my sample.

I love Brava Worsted because it is a great premium acrylic yarn that is both soft and sturdy. It comes in a large variety of colors and is very affordable!

Brava Worsted can be machine washed and dried.

I chose to crochet my son’s cardigan in one solid color, but I think it would look really nice in stripes as well! You could really get creative with this cardigan!

The Little Dude Cardigan crochet pattern comes with instructions for children’s sizes 2 through 10. This pattern makes an adorable toddler cardigan!

The pattern is rated Intermediate in difficulty level. However, I feel confident that an advanced beginner could complete this project.

It uses basic crochet stitches, and there’s just a bit of seaming at the shoulders.
