Valentine’s Beanie Crochet Pattern
Materials
Yarn: Scheepjes Catona in 5 colors (about 25 g of each skein) 50 g/125 m
Hook size: 3.0 mm
Scissors
Measuring Tape
Yarn Needle
Pom (optional)
Difficulty

Gauge
24 sts and 12 rows measure 10 x 10cm (4 x 4in) over dc using 3.0 mm crochet hook.
Sizing
21-22″ Head Circumference
Stitches Needed and Abbreviations
st stitch
sl st slip stitch
ch chain stitch
hdc half double crochet
BLO back loop only
* – repeat from
Ch 121 (121). Turn.
Row 1: Sl st in 2nd through 6th ch. *1 hdc in next 5 st, 1 sl st in next 5 st.* 9 times. 1 hdc in last 5 st. Turn.
From now on, work all stitches in back loop only (BLO)
Row 2 Ch1. *1 hdc in next 5 st, 1 sl st in next 5 st.* 10 times. Turn.
Row 3 Ch1. *1 hdc in next 5 st, 1 sl st in next 5 st.* 10 times. Turn.
Row 4 Ch1. *1 sl st in next 5 st, 1 hdc in next 5 st.* 10 times. Turn.
Row 5 Ch1. *1 sl st in next 5 st, 1 hdc in next 5 st.* 10 times. Turn.
Row 6 Ch1. *1 hdc in next 5 st, 1 sl st in next 5 st.* 10 times. Turn.
Row 7-50 Repeat rows 3-6. Change color after every tenth row.
Sew the sides of your beanie together.
Guide a thread/your yarn through the top stitches of your ‘headband’ shaped beanie.
Pull on the thread on both sides, this will shape the beanie and leave a small opening on top. Sew a pom pom on top, covering the opening.
