I am so proud to be participating in the 2021 Crochet Cancer Challenge. I believe this is my 4th or 5th year participating and it is such an amazing event with a wonderful cause behind it!

Crochet Cancer Challenge Details

Each day in October a different crochet designer will offer a hat pattern that they’ve designed for free for one day only. Many have personally designed their hat in honor of someone specific or to bring awareness to a specific type of cancer.

By downloading that free pattern, you pledge to make at least 1 hat to donate or gift to someone who is or has been affected by cancer.

You are not required to download every pattern or have all the hats completed by the end of the month. But please make at least 1 hat per pattern downloaded for this challenge.

Please share your finished hat photos on social media and use the hashtag #crochetcancerchallenge. The more people that see the challenge, the more hats will be made.

A huge thank you to Christine of Sweet Potato 3 for putting on this amazing challenge each year!

Pattern Details

The Faith Hat crochet pattern is a very simple toque style hat. It features the brick stitch throughout the body of the hat to give it a beautiful texture.

This crochet hat pattern is worked from the bottom brim up and comes with instructions for four sizes.

I used WeCrochet Brava Worsted yarn for this crochet hat. This yarn is 100% acrylic and so soft and sturdy! It is one of my go to yarns for hats. It can be machine washed and dried and holds up so nicely. It comes out even softer after being washed!

A few other super soft worsted weight yarns you could use are WeCrochet Mighty Stitch, Lion Brand Heartland, or Lion Brand Jeans.

This crochet hat pattern is rated Easy in pattern difficulty. It uses very basic crochet stitches to create. It is also worked with a negative ease measurement, but will stretch to fit. This ensures a great fit around the head without slouching or falling down on the face.

You can purchase the Faith Hat crochet pattern on Ravelry and Etsy!
