About Bramley
The Bramley Sweater is a button mock neck style sweater featuring sport weight yarn and a simple stitch combo.
This crochet pattern is worked in pieces and sewn together at the end. The neckline trim and buttons are added at the end. A simple stitch variation of alternating working in the back and front loops of the stitches give it the amazing texture it has.
This pattern comes in men’s sizes Small through 5X. It includes a size chart and schematic. The model in the photos is wearing a size Small. Please check out my guide to crocheting men’s garments for more details on how to choose the right size.
The Yarn
The Bramley Sweater is made using WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Sport. This is a sport (#2) weight yarn made of 100% Peruvian Highland wool.
This yarn is sturdy and strong. It is great for warm garments and accessories. It needs to be hand washed and dried flat.
A few great options to substitute this yarn:
The Bramley Sweater Crochet Pattern is a premium pattern and can be purchased on Ravelry or Etsy, or can be found in my book, “Crochet Makes for Men“!

Bought the Crochet Makes for Men and confused with the panel split on the Bramley sweater. Do you have a guide or video on that section?
Hi! I currently just have the photos in the pattern. Feel free to email me, [email protected] with your questions about it and I’ll help you get it figured out.
Hi, Michelle! I bought your book Crochet Makes for Men. My oldest would like me to make the Bramley Sweater for him. I’m figuring out what size to go with because his chest is 38” but his shoulder to shoulder measurement is 20.5”. Do you have any suggestions for what size I should start with and possible adaptations I could make to ensure a good fit?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Patricia
Hi! What size sweater/shirt does he typically wear? I think I’d start at a size large. You can also try measuring entirely around the shoulders and see what circumference you get. You may have to make some adjustments, but I’d start there and see how it’s looking. You definitely want it to be closest to the size of his shoulders for the best fit, rather than his chest.
