An easy worsted weight sweater pattern is a must to have in your pattern library, and while I’ve had the Dude Pullover for men for many years now, it was time to create one for the ladies!

Meet the Dudette Sweater, the women’s version of the Dude Pullover. It has the same great textured stitch combo you love, reworked with a women’s fit and a size range from XS all the way to 5X. It’s an easy worsted weight sweater that works up fast, even if it’s your very first one.
And this time you don’t have to figure it out alone. The Dudette comes with a full pattern video tutorial, so you can crochet right along with me from the neckline to the last cuff.
Why You’ll Love this Crochet Raglan Sweater:
- Top-down raglan construction. You start at the neckline and work down, so you can try it on as you go and adjust the length of the body and sleeves. No sewing needed!
- Worsted weight yarn. It works up faster than a lightweight sweater and is easy to find in tons of colors.
- Sizes XS-5X. Every size is written out, so you can make one for yourself, your sister, your mom and your best friend.
- Full video tutorial. If you’re a visual learner, or this is your first sweater, the video walks you through every step.
- Matches the Dude family. Pair it with the Dude Pullover for a his-and-hers set, or make the whole family match!

The Yarn
The Dudette Sweater is made with WeCrochet Brava Worsted (#4) weight yarn. This is a 100% Premium Acrylic yarn that can be machine washed and dried. There are over 40 colors to choose from! I used the colorway Rouge for my first sample sweater.
For my second sample, I used the WeCrochet Brava Speckle line in the colorway Cherry Speckle.
For my most recent men’s version of the Dude Pullover Sweater, I used WeCrochet Brava Tweed, which is another favorite of mine or garments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q? Is the Dudette Sweater beginner friendly?
A. If you know the basic half double crochet stitch and have made a hat or blanket before, you can do this! The top-down construction and the full video tutorial make it a great first sweater.
Q? What’s the difference between the Dude and the Dudette?
A. The Dudette uses the same textured stitch combo as the Dude Pullover, but it’s sized and shaped for women, from XS to 5X. The measurements and stitch count are based off the bust circumference, where the men’s version is based off both the chest and the shoulder measurements. This gives the women’s a bit more of a feminine fitted look.
Q? Do I have to sew any pieces together?
A. Nope! It’s worked top-down in one piece, so there’s no seaming at the end.
Q? Can I make it longer or shorter?
A. Yes! Because you work from the top down, you can try it on and stop the body and sleeves right where you want them.
