The Dutton Hoodie is a men’s crochet hoodie pattern from my book Crochet Makes for Men. This book includes 12 modern and masculine crochet patterns for men. Included are patterns for both garments and accessories. The garments are size inclusive, with instructions for 8 sizes, from Small to 5X. There are also 4 hat patterns, and 2 scarf patterns in the book. These patterns use simple stitches to create amazingly attractive menswear.

About Dutton
The Dutton Hoodie crochet pattern features the alpine stitch and a tweed yarn to create this rustic, stylish look.
This crochet hoodie pattern is worked from the bottom up in the round, and then split into panels to create the armholes. The hood is worked separately and sewn on to the neckline of the sweater.
This pattern comes in men’s sizes Small through 5X. It includes a size chart and schematic. The model in the photos is wearing a size Large. Please check out my guide to crocheting men’s garments for more details on how to choose the right size.
The Yarn
For the Dutton crochet hoodie I chose to use WeCrochet Stroll Tweed. This is a fingering (#1) weight yarn made of 65% fine superwash merino wool, 25% nylon, and 10% Donegal tweed.
This yarn is beautiful and so lightweight, making it great for garments! The drape is lovely, and it feels so good against the skin. This yarn line has over 20 colorways to choose from. It can also be machine washed and dried.
A few great options to use instead of this yarn:
