The Jenny Beanie is a beautiful cabled crochet beanie made with simple stitches to give it it’s unique look!
Pattern Inspiration
I wanted to create a cabled beanie but I didn’t want anything to bulky or chunky looking.
Plus, I wanted something slightly simpler than most cable designs. Something an advanced beginner could do.
So I opted to create this crochet beanie with just front post double crochet stitches. No back posts and no triple crochets.
It took a few times to get the stitch definition and texture that I was looking for, but once I did I was so pleased!
Pattern Details
This crochet beanie pattern uses front post cable stitching to create the neat zig zag effect you see below!
The Jenny Beanie is a bottom up project, with the brim made first. It is rated intermediate in difficulty, but once you get the hang of the cables it should be an easy make.
I used Red Heart Soft yarn for my samples but you can use any worsted (#4) weight yarn!
I really love Red Heart Soft because it is truly very soft! It also comes in a beautiful variety of colors and each color has a gorgeous shine to it!
Some other great worsted (#4) weight yarn options are WeCrochet Brava Worsted or LionBrand Heartland.
The crochet beanie pattern also comes with a link to a video tutorial on how to do the cables!
With the cable stitching and the worsted weight yarn, this hat is super warm and cozy! It will make a great winter hat to make for yourself, or gift to someone special!
The Jenny Beanie crochet pattern comes in sizes toddler, child, and adult.
