The Yarn

The Boston Slouch Hat uses 150 to 200 yards of  sport weight (#2) yarn. I used Knit Picks Brava Sport for my sample. Brava Sport is such a nice acrylic yarn and is very affordable! It is sturdy but soft, and comes in a huge variety of colors! It is one of my go to sport weight yarns and it’s perfect for this hat!

You, however, can use any sport weight yarn you prefer. Just be sure to check gauge!

This hat is worked from the bottom up.

You’ll find that this pattern is rated Easy on the difficulty scale. You will need to know just the basic crochet stitches such as single crochet, and half double crochet. Also, you’ll need to be able to do the chainless foundation single crochet stitch

This pattern comes with instructions for 4 sizes, Toddler through Large Adult.

It is a fitted hat so be sure to measure head circumference to determine the correct size to go with. There is no ease to this hat, so if you want a looser fit, I recommend going up a size.
