Pattern Inspiration

The crochet top was my first attempt at a v neckline! I had never made one before but had many requests for one. I decided to go the easiest route and create it using a side by side workup.

I don’t typically love the boxy look the workup style creates, but with the positive ease and the elegant v neck I was surprisingly pleased at how well this crochet top fit!

I love the open chevron stitch I decided to use and working in rows for the entire project made it even easier!

The name Chevy Tee came simply from the stitch used! I just shortened it to make it fun and catchy!

Pattern Details

The Chevy Tee is simple but fun, with a gorgeous v-neck  and a beautiful chevron stitch combo!

This crochet pattern comes in both Children’s sizes 2-10 AND Adult sizes XS-3X!  So you can make yourself one and your daughter or a friend one too! A mommy and me set would be absolutely adorable!

This top has 2-3″ positive ease to it. It’ll be more of a boxy fit than some of my other top designs. That is simply because of the way it is constructed. For a tighter fit, try going down 1 or 2 hook sizes. For more tips, check out my post on Crocheting Garments!

This tee is a side by side workup. That means you’ll construct two long panels, fold them in half, and sew them together.

I am 5″3″ and have a 36″ bust and am modeling a size medium.

the yarn

For this beautiful yellow Chevy Tee, I chose WeCrochet Cotlin (#3) yarn. This yarn is a 70% Tanguis Cotton, 30% Linen blend. It comes in over 50 colors and they are all amazing!

This yarn can be machine washed and dried. It is great for garments, bags, and other accessories.

yarn Alternatives

A few other yarns that would work great for this crochet top are Lion Brand Coboo, Hobbii Acacia, or Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend.

This is a lovely Tee. I would love to try it, but I can’t find the free pattern after scrolling this page carefully twice. It was listed as a free pattern. Can you guide me to the free pattern please? Thank you so much. Gail

    1. I’m sorry, but this is not a free pattern. It is a premium pattern. Where did you see it listed as a free pattern? That needs to be fixed.
