The Yarn
The Serenity Blanket crochet pattern is made using cotton worsted (#4) weight yarn in up to 6 different colors of your choice.
I used I Love This Cotton! from Hobby Lobby. It’s a nice soft cotton and a true worsted weight.
You will need approximately 1,710 yards total. For the main color you’ll need around 360 yards, and for each contrasting color you’ll need around 270 yards.
The throw is approximately 58″ x 42″, but the pattern comes with the multiples used to create a blanket in any size you prefer.
This pattern is rated Easy in pattern difficulty. It is a very repetitive and simple stitch combo.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best yarn for a lightweight summer crochet blanket?
I used a worsted weight 100% cotton yarn for this blanket. Cotton is a natural, breathable fiber that works great for summer projects, even with a heavier yarn like worsted weight. A cotton blend would also work well for an airy yet sturdy blanket.

Crochet stitch ideas for a lacy summer throw?
For a summer crochet blanket, choose an open, airy stitch pattern that maximizes airflow to keep you cool. That might mean taller stitches, like double or triple crochet and/or lots of chain spaces. You can also create a looser fabric by using a larger hook than recommended for the yarn.
The Flowers and Showers Baby Blanket, Sarah Blanket, and Katie Blanket all use lacy stitch combos and are great choices for summer blankets.
Can I make this blanket in a different size?
Yes, this blanket is easily customizable. When you’re making your starting chain, use the stitch multiple provided under pattern notes. Chain more stitches for a larger blanket or fewer stitches for a smaller one.

What colour’s did you use in the Serenity Blanket
I believe the dark pink around the border has been discontinued. But the other colors are Pewter, Taupe, Ivory, and Rosy.
