Don’t you just love a lightweight crochet cardigan that goes with anything you wear? The Magnolia Cardigan is just that!
This cardigan makes a wonderful transition piece as the weather changes either in spring or fall! Or wear it over a sweater in the winter for an added layer! It’s so versatile!
Pattern Inspiration
I had first created the Magnolia Shardi and Tee and felt like the obvious choice was to create a cardigan next!
I loved the lacy, but simple looking stitch combo and knew it would make a great transitional piece for the changing seasons!
I also made it slightly longer so that I could wear it with literally anything! Jeans, leggings, a dress, or whatever I wanted to!
Pattern Details
The pattern comes with instructions for women’s sizes XS to 2X!
The stitches are very basic and there is just a tiny bit of seaming at the shoulders!
I used one of my favorite yarns, Knit Picks Brava Sport, in the colorway Seraphim to create the sample cardigan pictured above.
I love Brava Sport because it is so durable, yet soft! It is absolutely perfect for crocheting lightweight garments and I use it for many of my designs!
It is machine washable and comes out of the wash just as nice as it went in! There are many color choices as well, and the yarn is very affordable!
The pattern is a bottom up project, worked in rows, with panels split for the armholes. Then sleeves and trim are added.
If you’re looking for a thicker, warmer cardigan check out my Charlotte Cardgian!
