Summer Crochet Top – Jayda Tee

I absolutely love my Jayda Cardigan, so the next best thing was to make myself a tee, and I am so happy with it!

Jayda Tee - Detail

Pattern Inspiration

Like I said above, I was inspired by my Jayda Cardigan. I released the Jayda Cardigan crochet pattern in the summer of 2021, and it was a huge hit! I love it so much and wear it often. So when I was planning out my summer designs I knew I wanted to create a top with the same fun stitches.

I decided on the same yarn as the cardigan, but with just speckles instead!

I tried something new this time and gave the tee a square neckline! I think this neckline shape is so classy looking and I am so happy with how it turned out!

Pattern Details

The Jayda Tee summer crochet top is worked from the bottom up, with just a bit of seaming at the shoulders. It has a small ribbing trim along the bottom, sleeves, and neckline that is added at the end.

This pattern is rated Intermediate in pattern difficulty. It comes with instructions for women’s XS through 5X.

the Yarn

The yarn the pattern calls for is WeCrochet Twill Fingering (#1 weight yarn. This yarn is one of my favorite fingering weight yarns to use for garments and accessories! It comes in a variety of styles and colorways and has a lovely drape and stitch definition!

Some great alternatives to this yarn would be WeCrochet Stroll or Hobbii Baby Cotton.

The garment has approximately 2″ of positive ease. I am modeling a size medium and I have a 36″ bust.

Pattern Notes:

This garment is worked from the bottom up in the round and then split into two panels at the top to create armholes. It will be seamed together again at the shoulders.

Garment has approximately 2-4” of positive ease.

If you plan to block your garment, block your gauge swatch before measuring.

Pattern is written in the smallest size with additional sizes in parentheses as follows XS (S, M, L, XL)(2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). Final stitch count for all sizes will be in parentheses at the end of each row/round.

If using hand dyed yarn, alternate skeins to avoid unwanted color pooling or color blocking.
